Pilot charged after landing helicopter in Canada town centre to buy ice-cream cake


A man’s cravings for a sweet handle have landed him in the hot seat with the law enforcement immediately after he landed his helicopter in the centre of a small Canadian city to invest in an ice product cake.

Residents in the town of Tisdale, Saskatchewan (inhabitants 3,000) watched in astonishment on 31 July as a bright purple helicopter descended on the parking lot near the town’s only Dairy Queen cafe, blowing up clouds of dust and debris as it touched down.

In the beginning, some inhabitants imagined the chopper – painted the same colour as the province’s air ambulances – was on the scene for a clinical crisis.

But when the town’s mayor observed the passenger leave the restaurant with an ice product cake, he recognized the aircraft had a unique mission.

“Well, I thought any person ought to be hungry,” Mayor Al Jellicoe instructed CBC Information. “Initially, I imagined that’s possibly not the suitable matter to do.”

Police agreed.

On Wednesday, they reported investigators had decided the journey to Dairy Queen was “not an emergency” and experienced charged the 34-12 months-aged pilot, who has not been named.

The person, from the town of Leroy, experienced a license to run the helicopter, but parked it in an illegal location.
